The project consisted of the major refurbishment of an existing craft beer venue on the boardwalk in Newcastle’s Honeysuckle precinct. The idea was to create a vibrant, coastal venue that allowed for small to large groups of people to sit together in a relaxed atmosphere. The large beer hall arrangement of the previous fitout was replaced with a flowing arrangement of lounges, tables, dry bars and bench seating to allow for more intimate gatherings for everyone.
The materials pallet is neutral and natural so that the flashes of colour throughout the venue would come from the bottles behind the bar, the table ornaments and the patrons attire. Natural timbers, stone, weatherboards and dark metal forming a warm backdrop for the venue with a variety of feature lighting creating a more playful environment as the sun goes down. Completed 2020.
